On saturday I did a little fieldwork around River Danube near Bodíky(district Dunajská Streda). At first I was supposed to monitor a section of Danube's old river basin, but the water level was higher than expected so I had a walk alongside river arms in the alluvial forests. After meeting with others that were working in surrounding areas we visited also Hrušovská zdrž water dam and Sysľovské polia. Here is the map of my counting section. Numbers of observed water birds in counting section: Mute Swan 10, Mallard 10, Tufted Duck 18, Smew 1, Little Grebe 17, Grey Heron 3, Great Egret 3, Great Cormorant 62, White-tailed Eagle 2.
Mentioned areas are parts of IBA Dunajské luhy and IBA Sysľovské polia.
